The microchurch can be defined as “an extended spiritual family, led by ordinary people, who live in everyday Gospel community, and own the mission of Jesus in a network of relationships.”

WHY BREATHE and BREATHE COMMUNITIES?

Breath is invisible.   We will not promote ‘our brand’ over the name of Jesus.  We want to elevate Jesus and others more than ourselves.  Breath is like the ‘wind’.  In an ever-changing culture we will not move with trends but depend fully on Jesus and the wind of His Spirit on the foundation of His Truth, the Bible.  We want to join God in His movement and catch the wind of His sail.  We will seek to join in what God is doing rather than ask God to join us in what we are doing.

The Ultimate Mission:  Gospel Saturation

A network of reproducing disciples and microchurches that seeks to saturate our communities with beauty, justice and the good news of Jesus so that every woman, man, girl and boy can hear, see and experience the love of Jesus.

The Church is a biblical community of believers experiencing the presence of Jesus (worship), sent out as a spiritual family to pursue and implement His mission in the world.  (Breathe Church)

BREATHE COMMUNITY (MICROCHURCH) EXPECTATIONS

Welcome to Church.   We are Breathe Church…the Breathe MicroChurch.   Our Churches will exist in the communities of our members.   We are a part of a growing movement.  We trust you will find deep relationship with God and with others in one of our communities.  Each ‘Community’ is a microchurch in the Breathe Underground. 

Congratulations on your desire to grow deeper in your relationship with God as you encounter Jesus in the truth of Scripture (worship), experience community, and embrace mission!  The essence of the church is wrapped up in that sentence.  Each microchurch in the Breathe Underground are all about worship, community and mission.

As a member of this community, you and the other members will be asked to make the following commitments so that this biblical community becomes a priority in your life. The intent is to challenge you to be an engaged, contributing member in this community.   

We ask for these commitments from each member in our Breathe Communities:

• I will make my Breathe Community a priority by attending our gathering(s) and will read the Bible, meditate, engage in the group dialogue, and answer the questions in our Discovery Bible Study process.
• I will strive to build authentic relationships with those in this group by providing encouragement, praying for, and caring for the needs of those in my community.
• I will commit my time, talents, and treasures to further the Gospel of Jesus as we love and serve our neighbors and communities.
• I will explore honestly my next steps for spiritual growth by completing an ‘I Will’ response to what I hear from the Holy Spirit as He reveals His Truth to me as I read the Bible each day/week.
• I will be held accountable and hold others accountable in my community even when that might make me or others uncomfortable. 
• I will participate in this community understanding that this is a safe place to share and will steward our community conversations with respect, sensitivity, and confidentiality.
